Victoria Crawford is the new women's basketball coach at Fisk University, taking over a program that posted a record of 9-19 last season. With a wealth of coaching experience and strong basketball acumen, Crawford is well-equipped to lead the Fisk program into a new era of competitiveness.
Before her appointment at Fisk, Crawford served as the head coach at Lincoln College in Illinois, where she guided her team to a 7-17 record in her final season before the institution announced its closure after the semester. Her coaching journey also includes significant contributions at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham and a vital role as an assistant coach at Southern Mississippi University during the 2017-2018 season. Before transcending into her coaching career, Victoria spent five successful seasons as the associate head coach at Miles College, where she helped develop young talent and foster a strong team environment.
Crawford's playing career was marked by excellence and achievement. A standout in high school, she led the state of Alabama in scoring during her senior year, averaging an impressive 27 points per game, which earned her a scholarship to the University of Memphis. While at Memphis, Crawford made a significant impact on the program, receiving the Conference USA Sixth Player of the Year award in 2004 and setting the school’s single-season steals record.
After her collegiate success, she pursued a professional career, playing overseas from 2005 to 2010 and participating in several WNBA camps, which showcased her talent and dedication to the game. Crawford's experience as a professional athlete allows her to understand the nuances of the game from a player's perspective, enriching her coaching approach.
Coach Victoria Crawford is a firm believer in the potential of student-athletes.
