Lyric Cole is a dynamic and versatile basketball athlete whose impressive skill set and competitive spirit have made her a standout player at both the collegiate and HBCU levels. A proud member of the 2025 Women's Basketball HBCU All-Stars, Lyric has earned recognition for her exceptional rebounding, scoring, and leadership on the court.
Beginning her college journey at Austin Peay State University, Lyric quickly made an impact by averaging 21 minutes per game and starting all 30 of her appearances during her freshman season. Her impressive debut was highlighted by her ability to lead in rebounds and play a pivotal role in the team's success.
Transferring to Tennessee State University, Lyric continued to elevate her performance. Over her three seasons at TSU, she averaged 6.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, showcasing her consistency and intensity. She led her team with 180 rebounds in her first year after transferring and finished her senior season with an average of 29 minutes, 7 points, and 8 rebounds per game, including six double-double games.
Lyric’s clutch performances include scoring crucial points in high-pressure moments, helping her team secure important victories such as the win against UT Martin that qualified TSU for the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Her work ethic, leadership qualities, and dedication to excellence continue to drive her forward as a rising star in women’s college basketball.
