Ryan Ruguaru made an impressive debut for the University of Memphis in his freshman season. He played a crucial role in the team's success, starting seven of the 14 matches he participated in. Ruguaru recorded his first career start at Mercer on September 5 and quickly became a pivotal figure in the squad, showcasing his defensive prowess by logging 808 minutes on the field. Notably, he contributed to the defense by starting the final five matches of the season, helping the team secure the AAC Regular Season Championship.

Before joining the University of Memphis, Ruguaru was a standout player at Lausanne Collegiate, where he helped lead the team to a state championship. His exceptional performance earned him the titles of All-Region MVP and a spot on the All-Tournament Team, highlighting his skill and versatility on the field.
